Focus and Flourish Tuition
These Terms and Conditions set out the agreement between you (the parent/guardian) and Focus and Flourish Tuition (Kathryn Cooper). They are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and a professional working relationship.
By booking or attending tutoring sessions, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. About the Tutor
Focus and Flourish Tuition is operated by Kathryn Cooper, a private tutor and qualified primary teacher based in Bristol, UK.
2. Contact Details
Parents/guardians must provide accurate and up-to-date contact information prior to tuition starting.
This includes:
- At least two contact phone numbers
- A valid email address
- The student’s full name, date of birth, and school year group
- Any relevant information such as medical conditions, allergies, or additional learning needs
You must inform me promptly of any changes to this information.
3. Fees and Payment
- Fees for tuition are provided at the time of booking and are agreed in advance. These may be updated from time to time
- Payment must be made at least 48 hours in advance of each session
- Payment is preferably made termly in advance (to be agreed at booking)
- Payments are made via bank transfer
If payment is not received on time, the lesson may not take place.
Fees include:
- Lesson delivery
- Planning and preparation
- Learning resources
- Ongoing assessment and feedback
4. Lesson Scheduling
Lesson times are agreed in advance and your child’s time slot is reserved weekly during term time.
Requests to change lesson times:
- Must be discussed in advance
- Are subject to availability
- Cannot be guaranteed
5. Attendance and Cancellations
Regular attendance is expected to support student progress.
- A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations
- Missed sessions with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full
- Where possible, rearrangement may be offered at my discretion
If your child is unwell or there are exceptional circumstances, please inform me as soon as possible.
If I am unable to deliver a session:
- I will provide as much notice as possible
- The session will be rearranged or refunded
6. Term Dates
Tuition generally follows the term dates of
Bristol City Council schools.
Details can be found on the Bristol City Council website.
7. Notice Period and Termination
- A minimum of 2 weeks’ notice is required to end tuition
- Notice must be given via email
I reserve the right to terminate tuition immediately where:
- Payments are repeatedly late or missed
- Multiple sessions are cancelled without sufficient notice
- These Terms and Conditions are breached
8. Liability
While every effort is made to support student progress, Focus and Flourish Tuition does not guarantee specific academic outcomes.
I am not liable for:
- Exam results
- School performance outcomes
- Circumstances outside my control
9. Safeguarding
Safeguarding is a priority. I regularly udate my safeguarding training and appropriate steps are taken to ensure a safe and professional learning environment at all times.
10. Changes to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time.
Parents/guardians will be given reasonable notice of any significant changes.
